Coastal Engineering Team Leader

About the role

SMEC is inviting expressions of interest for a Coastal Engineering Team Leader based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. The role suits a senior engineer who can lead complex coastal infrastructure, flood risk and climate resilience assignments in line with international standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Coastal Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulics or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in coastal engineering, flood risk management, water resources, drainage or climate resilience projects.
• At least 10 years in senior leadership roles such as Team Leader, Project Manager, Technical Lead or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience planning, reviewing designs, ensuring quality and supporting implementation of large-scale coastal, flood management, drainage or resilience infrastructure projects.
• Experience on projects financed by international development agencies, multilateral institutions or donors is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, government agencies, contractors and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Planning, design review, quality assurance and implementation support of large infrastructure projects.
