Coastal Resilience & Water Resources Specialist

About the role

SMEC invites expressions of interest for a Coastal Resilience & Water Resources Specialist based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. The role calls for a senior engineering professional to provide technical leadership in coastal resilience, water resources, flood risk reduction, climate adaptation and infrastructure development, in line with ongoing and upcoming climate resilience, water resources and infrastructure initiatives.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Coastal Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Coastal Zone Management or a related discipline.
• At least 20 years of experience in coastal engineering, water resources, flood mitigation, climate resilience or related infrastructure, including 10 years in planning, design, review and implementation of coastal protection, flood management, drainage or resilience projects.
• Experience in coastal infrastructure, erosion control, shoreline stabilization, flood risk management and climate adaptation.
• Ability to integrate engineering solutions with environmental sustainability, ecosystem-based approaches and resilience planning.
• Experience in technical reviews, quality assurance, feasibility studies, design management and implementation support, and in large-scale, complex infrastructure programmes.
• Experience on projects funded by international development agencies, donors or multilateral financial institutions is an advantage.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, government entities, contractors and stakeholders.

• Leadership, analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
