Coatings Material and Production Planner

About the role

The Coatings Material and Production Planner is responsible for translating market demand into feasible production schedules while ensuring raw material availability across the manufacturing plant and distribution network. This role works closely with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and customer care to keep the supply chain fluid and responsive.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short‑term (13‑week) and long‑term (24‑month) production plans that align with factory capacity and constraints.
• Manage material planning activities, ensuring raw material availability in line with MRP parameters and supplier contracts.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to maintain strong relationships and resolve material shortages.
• Monitor inventory levels, reduce slow‑moving and obsolete stock, and contribute to safety‑stock settings for new and phase‑out products.
• Release production orders, track schedule adherence, and drive continuous improvement in planning performance.
• Facilitate cross‑functional meetings (MDI, gate‑keeping) and provide KPI reporting to stakeholders.
• Support projects aimed at improving planning processes, SLOB reduction, and overall service levels.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of capacity planning, production scheduling, and the trade‑offs between service, inventory, and cost.
• Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts and data accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and customer‑facing teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve material availability issues.
