Compliance and Regulatory Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance & Regulatory Subject Matter Expert to work remotely on an hourly contract basis. You will review AI‑generated compliance, regulatory and risk outputs, create expert compliance content, and provide precise written feedback to improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content: craft detailed prompts and gold‑standard compliance outputs such as policies, control descriptions, monitoring plans, risk assessments and regulatory summaries.
• Optimize AI performance: evaluate, rank and refine AI responses to enhance correctness, defensibility, clarity and practical usefulness.
• Ensure model integrity: test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe or non‑compliant guidance, misleading certainty and bias; validate reliability across scenarios.
• Provide written feedback on reasoning quality, step‑by‑step decision‑making and regulatory interpretation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Law, Finance, Risk/Compliance, Public Policy or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in compliance or regulatory roles within regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, tech/privacy, insurance, energy, etc.).
• Strong command of compliance fundamentals: risk‑based programs, control design, monitoring/testing, issue management, remediation tracking and documentation standards.
• Proven ability to interpret regulations and translate them into policies, procedures, training and operational controls.
• Excellent judgment in spotting missing assumptions, over‑confident claims and false certainty; minimum C1 English proficiency.
• Strong writing skills for clear, defensible documentation.
• Self‑directed, reliable and able to deliver consistent quality in a remote, hourly workflow across time zones.
