Cook – Prepare Meals for Staff & Guests

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare daily meals for staff and guests across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack times. The role supports the organization’s humanitarian mission by ensuring nutritious, safe, and timely food service while accommodating diverse dietary needs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for staff and guests.
• Plan menus in coordination with the Supply Chain team, considering dietary restrictions such as vegetarian or medical diets.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, food storage areas, and work surfaces.
• Implement proper food handling, storage, and preservation practices to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Monitor and record stock levels of food items and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate consumption logs.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, well‑maintained, and report any issues.
• Support meal setup for meetings, workshops, and special events.
