Cyber Security Intern

About the role

The Cyber Security Intern will join the organization’s security team in Karachi, gaining hands‑on experience with daily security operations. This role offers exposure to incident handling, patch management, vulnerability assessments, and security hardening within a real‑world environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing patch management processes for servers, workstations, and desktops under supervision.
• Support vulnerability scanning activities, identify issues, and help prepare remediation reports.
• Perform CIS benchmark scans and maintain associated security tools.
• Participate in system hardening by applying recommended security configurations.
• Help with incident handling and ticket management as directed by the SOC team.
• Monitor and support security controls based on penetration‑testing and assessment findings.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot basic security problems and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to documentation and follow‑up on assessment and remediation tasks.

Required profile

• Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, and patch management.
• Familiarity with security standards such as CIS benchmarks and vulnerability scanning concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
