Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

muSharp is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join its security team in Lahore. This position is ideal for fresh graduates eager to gain hands‑on experience in protecting digital assets, monitoring threats, and supporting security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events under senior guidance.
• Assist in identifying, investigating, and escalating potential incidents.
• Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
• Monitor network and endpoint security tools for suspicious activity.
• Help implement and maintain security controls and best practices.
• Maintain security documentation, reports, and incident records.
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to improve security posture.
• Participate in security awareness initiatives and stay updated on emerging threats.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity (fresh graduate).
• Strong foundation in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar).
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, OpenVAS).
• Exposure to endpoint security, firewalls and cloud security concepts.
• Scripting basics in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and security concepts.
