Cybersecurity Specialist – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to join a leading Information Services firm on a contract basis. Working remotely, you will conduct penetration testing to uncover and validate vulnerabilities across networks, web applications, and APIs, helping protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive security assessments, including network, web application, and API penetration testing.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyze results, and identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and execute custom exploits to simulate real‑world attack scenarios.
• Document findings in detailed reports with remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to triage issues and verify fixes.

Required profile

• Strong analytical abilities and clear communication of technical findings.
• Experience delivering security assessments in a remote, contract environment.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and cloud security principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Metasploit.
• Scripting expertise in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, and CIS benchmarks.
• Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and common network protocols.
