Data Engineer – Digital Collections

About the role

The Data Engineer will support the Digital Collections team by preparing and maintaining data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for operational needs. This role involves delivering MIS and analytical reports and acting as the main contact for ad‑hoc data requests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and ensure accuracy of collections data for operational use.
• Deliver timely Collections MIS and analytical reports to support decision‑making.
• Handle ad‑hoc data requests, streamlining retrieval and usage.
• Design and implement process improvements, including automation of workflows and optimization of data pipelines.
• Build and maintain ETL infrastructure using SQL and AWS big‑data technologies.
• Collaborate with leadership, product, data and design teams to address technical challenges and enhance data‑driven strategies.
• Implement best practices for data security and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Partner with analytics experts to improve portfolio segmentation, delinquency management and digital collection strategies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years experience in retail collections, collections strategy, credit operations or product management.
• 2‑3 years hands‑on experience with data and MIS reporting.
• Good understanding of collections processes and ability to interpret data trends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s preferred.

• Java, Scala, SQL, SAS.
• Big‑data technologies: Hadoop ecosystem, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• Database systems: HANA, Hazelcast, SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL databases.
• Dashboard tools: Tableau, Power BI, Qlik.
• Data analytics/modeling: R, Python, Spark.
