Data Scientist

About the role

Habib Bank AG Zurich is looking for a Data Scientist to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives within its Software Development function. The role delivers data-driven solutions, applies machine learning and AI techniques and produces actionable insights for business and technology stakeholders. The position is based in Karachi, Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Apply data science and AI to solve complex problems
• Analyse, model and visualise data to generate insights
• Build machine learning solutions using Python and diverse datasets
• Apply CRISP-DM across projects
• Design and evaluate ML models, neural networks and large language models
• Work with RAG architectures (LangChain, LangGraph)
• Develop and deploy applications using FastAPI and MLOps practices
• Create dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Cognos
• Collaborate with data, engineering and business teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Software Engineering or Computer Science from a reputable university, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics or AI-related roles
• Master's in Data Science or a related discipline
• Banking or financial services experience is a plus

Required skills

• Strong expertise in data analytics, visualisation and Python
• Hands-on experience with ML, neural networks and AI models
• Experience with LLMs and RAG architectures
• Good understanding of MLOps practices
• Ability to design scalable AI applications
