Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Database Administrator to join our team and take full ownership of installing, configuring, managing and maintaining our critical database platforms. You will work independently in a Linux environment, ensuring high availability, security and performance of large‑scale database systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL databases.
• Plan and execute database system installations and configurations.
• Manage database users, permissions and security policies.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL streaming replication and hot standby.
• Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard (active/standby).
• Perform backup and recovery using pg_dump, pg_basebackup, pg_fdw, RMAN and Data Pump.
• Execute failover and switchover procedures.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, indexes and database settings.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for reporting and analysis.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as vacuuming, reindexing and statistics updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience with relational databases.
• Understanding of database design, modelling and NoSQL concepts.
