Deputy Director (SRD Provincial Coordination)

About the role

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA), which is being set up to strengthen Pakistan's agri-trade ecosystem through stronger regulatory oversight, facilitation and modernisation of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will join NAFSA's foundational team, helping build its systems, processes and institutional capabilities. The role focuses on coordinating the implementation of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) standards and regulations across the provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the liaison between NAFSA's SRD unit and provincial departments and regulators to ensure coherent national implementation of SPS standards and regulations.
• Coordinate the dissemination of SRD instruments (rules, standards, SOPs, technical instructions) to provincial counterparts and track acknowledgements and adoption progress.
• Monitor implementation of notified SRD measures by provinces, identify gaps, capacity needs and compliance issues.
• Support harmonised interpretation of SPS requirements across provinces through guidance notes and coordination meetings.
• Compile provincial feedback and operational issues and support continuous improvement of regulatory instruments.
• Maintain a coordination log of provincial communications, implementation status and corrective actions.
• Support training or awareness sessions for provincial stakeholders, in coordination with SRD and CSW training functions.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate.

Required profile

• Master's or MPhil (minimum eighteen years of education) in Agriculture Sciences, Veterinary, Food Science or an equivalent relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in SPS regulation/implementation, government coordination or regulatory programme management.

Required skills

• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, able to work across federal-provincial structures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Understanding of SPS frameworks and inter-agency coordination requirements.
