Director ORIC

About the role

The University of Information Technology (UITU) is seeking a Director ORIC to provide academic leadership, drive research excellence, and oversee problem‑based learning, commercialization and industry‑linked projects. Reporting to the Vice‑Chancellor, the role coordinates teaching and administrative units to achieve the university’s strategic academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop curricula, including new programmes with emphasis on research and practical learning.
• Formulate policies and procedures for project‑based learning and nurture collaborative relationships across faculties.
• Lead the Research & Development Committee and promote a research‑oriented learning environment.
• Foster a culture of research, final‑year project commercialization and capacity building.
• Develop and implement the university’s research strategy, supervise research teams and manage project proposals.
• Establish internal and external networks to encourage national and international research collaborations.
• Prepare and manage project grant proposals, budgets and ensure compliance with policies.
• Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations at conferences and other media.
• Act as principal investigator on independent research projects.

Required profile

• Strong record of teaching, research and academic service.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with accreditation processes, academic programme development, fundraising and grant writing (preferred).
