Director Platforms

About the role

The Director – Platforms will lead the design, operation, and scaling of Pakistan’s national digital platform ecosystem. This role ensures that core Digital Public Infrastructure components such as the Pakistan Stack, Identity, Payments, and Data Exchange are accessible through robust APIs and developer portals, enabling government, private sector, and third‑party developers to build scalable digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a national platform strategy that provides API‑based access to DPI services and supports high‑volume transactions.
• Design and govern the API ecosystem, ensuring secure authentication, lifecycle management, and compliance with national standards.
• Oversee platform operations, guaranteeing reliability, scalability, and secure access for all participating systems.
• Establish developer portals, documentation, and sandbox environments to foster ecosystem participation and innovation.
• Support government agencies and private‑sector organizations in integrating with DPI platforms.
• Collaborate with federal ministries, provincial governments, national institutions, banks, fintechs, telecom operators, technology companies, and the broader developer community.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in platform engineering, API ecosystems, or large‑scale digital platforms.
• Proven experience managing high‑traffic digital platforms or national digital infrastructure is highly desirable.
