Director Sustainability (Programmes, Carbon and Climate)

About the role

You will lead complex climate and sustainability programmes end‑to‑end, setting strategy, governance and stakeholder engagement while delivering carbon and climate‑resilience certifications across large assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sustainability programmes with operating models, KPIs and reporting.
• Conduct whole‑life carbon assessments, develop PAS 2080 aligned strategies and decarbonisation pathways.
• Perform climate vulnerability assessments, integrate nature‑based solutions and embed climate risk into design.
• Oversee LEED, WELL, Envision or equivalent certifications, using performance monitoring frameworks.
• Manage ESIA/EIA processes, environmental plans, compliance and contribute to policy and green building codes.
• Run multi‑criteria, cost‑benefit and economic sensitivity analyses for design and investment decisions.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with government, utilities, communities, NGOs and clients, establishing steering committees.
• Lead technical aspects of bids, develop funding, green finance and partnership pathways.
• Utilise Power BI and BIM‑linked dashboards to track carbon, energy and performance in real time.
• Build and mentor a technical team.

Required profile

• 12+ years in sustainability, carbon credits, climate or environmental consulting, leading large programmes.
• Degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Accreditations such as LEED AP, Envision (ENV SP) or WELL AP.
• Proven experience delivering sustainability certifications for large assets.
• Experience with whole‑life carbon, LCA tools (e.g., OneClick LCA) and ISO 14064 or PAS 2080.
• Policy, strategy advisory and multi‑stakeholder facilitation experience.
• Hands‑on with Power BI and BIM360.
• Willingness to work between Islamabad and Gilgit and travel regularly.
