Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and reliability of the plant's complete electrical distribution network. This includes high‑voltage (11 kV) and low‑voltage systems, power generation backup, and critical control power supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot 11 kV HT incoming supply, switchgear, VCBs, protection relays, CTs/PTs, busbars, RMUs and HT cables.
• Manage 11 kV/415 V power transformers, including protection, temperature monitoring, oil testing and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain LT panels, PCCs, MCCs, ACBs, MCCBs, contactors, overload relays, distribution boards and automatic change‑over systems.
• Ensure reliable operation of 415 V three‑phase and 230 V single‑phase industrial power distribution and plant lighting.
• Troubleshoot and maintain induction, brake and servo motors, VFDs, soft starters and motor protection systems.
• Maintain power‑factor correction panels, capacitor banks, harmonic filters and monitor power‑quality parameters.
• Operate diesel generators, ATS/AMF panels, synchronization and load‑sharing systems for emergency power.
• Maintain UPS systems, batteries, inverters and critical AC/DC backup supplies.
• Support control power supplies (230 VAC, 110 VAC, 48 VDC, 24 VDC) and related SMPS, transformers and relays.
• Troubleshoot PLC I/O, safety relays, sensors, encoders, proximity/photo‑electric switches and industrial communication interfaces.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, electrical testing and condition monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO, permit‑to‑work and protection‑relay coordination.
• Analyse breakdowns, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor energy consumption, demand and load distribution to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop and follow PM plans, shutdown schedules and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operating and maintaining plant electrical distribution networks.
• Ability to work safely with HT/LT systems and follow LOTO procedures.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and energy optimisation.
