Energy Regulatory Attorney (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide specialized legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract role supports a leading entity in the energy sector, focusing on compliance, regulatory filings, and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file regulatory documents, petitions, and motions in energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed regulations, tariffs, and rate cases to assess legal risks and devise strategic responses.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector and brief leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction, preferably with energy regulatory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities to interpret complex regulatory frameworks.

• Experience handling regulatory filings, proceedings, or policy advocacy in the energy sector.
