Energy Transition Officer

About the role

Alternate Development Services (ADS) is seeking an experienced Energy Transition Officer to lead corporate initiatives that shift energy consumption from fossil fuels to renewable sources. The role combines research, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and project management to support businesses in achieving Pakistan’s RE100 commitments by 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement green strategies and business plans for corporate clients.
• Research Pakistan’s energy mix, document consumption patterns, and monitor progress toward renewable energy targets.
• Negotiate sustainable energy solutions for sectors such as food & beverage, textiles, sports, and banking.
• Align corporate green initiatives with overall business strategy to enhance profitability.
• Advocate for renewable energy adoption and communicate benefits to clients and consumers.
• Lead projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact.
• Manage the Green Corporate Coalition (GCC) and participate in related network groups.
• Coordinate with government ministries, NGOs, and other stakeholders on renewable energy programs.
• Collect, analyze, and document research data; prepare reports, briefs, and policy recommendations.
• Identify business opportunities and assist in proposal development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Energy Economics, Energy Governance, Environmental & Climate Sciences, Electrical/Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in alternative energy promotion, energy transition campaigns, or corporate lobbying.
• Strong research abilities in alternative energy, GHG inventories, carbon footprinting, and data analysis.
• Logical, analytical, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and multitask under pressure.
