Facility Technician – Restaurant Operations

About the role

The Facility Technician oversees all facilities operations for a restaurant branch during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth startup and shutdown, vendor coordination, equipment troubleshooting, and compliance with safety and hygiene SOPs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and monitor all facility-related startup and shutdown procedures at shift start and end.
• Coordinate with maintenance, cleaning, pest‑control and other service vendors, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Monitor critical systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and lighting throughout the shift.
• Maintain accurate logs of inspections, maintenance activities, incidents and vendor visits.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled line walks in kitchen, dining, storage and utility areas to identify issues.
• Create, update and close tickets for facility issues and provide daily shift reports to the Area Facilities Manager.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems and kitchen equipment to prevent downtime.

Required profile

• Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical, Mechanical or a related field.
• 4–5 years of facilities operations experience in the restaurant or food‑service industry.
• Hands‑on experience diagnosing and resolving faults in HVAC, electrical and food‑service equipment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and kitchen equipment systems.
• Knowledge of restaurant facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment).
• Basic computer literacy, including Excel and ticketing software.
