Fiber Technician

About the role

The Fiber Technician works on‑site in the Karachi Division, installing, splicing, testing and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure for enterprise and carrier‑grade networks. The role supports project delivery, upgrades and repairs while ensuring compliance with company standards and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, plan cable routes and perform cable routing, labeling and physical management.
• Install, splice and terminate fiber optic cables using appropriate connectors.
• Test fiber links with OTDR, power meters and other optical test equipment to verify signal quality and performance.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the NOC and field teams to ensure timely service delivery.
• Document all work activities and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Strong practical skills in cable handling, routing, labeling and termination.
• Technical knowledge of fiber optics, splicing and connectorization.
• Ability to work safely in field conditions and follow safety procedures.
• Attention to detail with solid documentation habits.
• Previous experience in ISP, telecom or fiber deployment projects is an advantage.
