Finance Director – Real Estate & Investment Management

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the finance function for a real‑estate and construction focused organization, overseeing a team of around 30 professionals. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines strategic financial planning, investment management, and regulatory compliance within a REIT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a finance department of 20‑30 staff, ensuring high productivity and engagement.
• Develop and execute financial strategies, policies and procedures aligned with growth plans in real‑estate and construction.
• Perform comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial analysis to support decision‑making.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Oversee investment management, capital allocation, risk assessment and REIT structuring.
• Drive IPO preparation, financial restructuring and listing requirements in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
• Implement cost‑control measures and risk‑mitigation strategies across business units.
• Utilise ERP systems and GRC platforms to streamline reporting and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Fellow Chartered Accountant qualification.
• Minimum 18 years of finance leadership experience, preferably in construction or real‑estate sectors.
• Proven track record managing large finance teams and delivering strategic financial guidance.
• Deep understanding of REIT regulations, IPO processes and financial restructuring.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP software for financial integration.
• Experience using RSA Archer for governance, risk and compliance.
• Experience using ServiceNow GRC platform.
