Flutter Engineer

About the role

ForkStack.io partners with startups to turn early-stage ideas into scalable, production-ready products, offering fractional CTO leadership, product strategy, technical architecture and hands-on engineering support. The Flutter Engineer works full time on site in Karachi, collaborating with founders, product managers and other engineers to build and maintain high-quality mobile applications with Flutter.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features and write clean, testable code.
• Integrate APIs and back-end services, and optimize app performance across platforms.
• Take part in code reviews and contribute to technical architecture decisions.
• Ensure best practices in mobile UI/UX and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues, refine product requirements and support the delivery of scalable, reliable solutions for startup clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms and software design principles.
• Proficiency in programming and object-oriented programming, preferably with Dart and modern mobile development practices.
• Experience building and deploying Flutter apps for Android and iOS, with attention to performance and usability.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced startup environment.

Required skills

• Software development and back-end web development, including RESTful APIs, server-side service integration and basic database knowledge.
• Version control (e.g. Git), automated testing and CI/CD workflows.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and scalable architectures are a plus.
