Forward Deployed Engineer (TypeScript + AI) - Remote

About the role

FullStack is an AI-native engineering partner that builds software teams for companies needing AI in production. It is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work remotely from Pakistan, embedded with an enterprise client's team. The FDE acts as consultant, operator and engineer: finding the work that truly warrants AI, architecting the system, building it and making it hold up in the real environment. The role suits someone comfortable pressure-testing a business case with a COO or VP of Engineering as well as debugging an agent's tool-calling loop.

Key responsibilities

• Run discovery workshops with business and engineering stakeholders, separate genuine AI problems from workflow problems and come back with a scoped, defensible point of view.
• Map current processes, decision points and exceptions, then turn them into specifications that people and AI systems can follow reliably.
• Design agentic systems end to end: orchestration, context and retrieval, tool and MCP integration, guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints and the boundary between deterministic and non-deterministic components.
• Build working systems: agents, multi-step automations, internal tooling and integration layers, with prototypes that prove value quickly.
• Own CI/CD for what you build: build, test, release, environments and deployment.
• Present and defend decisions to CTOs, VPs of Engineering and business leadership, quantify impact in their terms, and support pre-sales scoping and proposals when needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development with at least one mainstream production stack (TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Java, C#/.NET or Go).
• 1-4 years of experience building and shipping LLM-powered and agentic AI systems beyond prototypes.
• Advanced English and a completed four-year college degree.
• Proven experience evaluating current-state environments, defining technical roadmaps, and owning end-to-end delivery without product manager supervision.
• Experience on Agile/Scrum teams and large, complex systems; ability to take extreme ownership.
• Must be authorized to work in the country of the posting on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with frontier AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI or OpenAI Codex.
• APIs, service design, event-driven and distributed systems, and data modeling.
• CI/CD pipelines and enterprise integration patterns, including webhooks, iPaaS platforms such as n8n or MuleSoft and MCP.
• Strong understanding of context and specification engineering, and of prompt- and eval-level regression testing in CI.
• Plus: production AI operations (eval harnesses, observability, drift, debugging non-deterministic systems), regulated-environment delivery, process mining or consulting background, and client enablement.
