Full-Time Remote Web Developer (E-commerce)

About the role

An experienced, solution-oriented Web Developer is sought for a growing e-commerce team. The role covers frontend and backend development, performance optimization, integrations, troubleshooting and database work on online shops. It is a full-time remote position with Monday to Friday working hours (08:00-17:00 CET/CEST, 8 hours a day, 1-hour break).

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve company websites and online shops, adding new functions and fixing errors.
• Optimize loading speed and performance, and make sites responsive for desktop, tablet and mobile.
• Work with APIs and build integrations between e-commerce systems, suppliers, databases and websites.
• Handle large product databases and imports, and optimize database queries.
• Maintain automated processes, troubleshooting API, server, database, plugin and website issues.
• Use product feeds, CSV/XML files and structured data, and implement tracking, forms and other functionality.
• Work with existing plugins and extensions, write clean documented code, test changes before deployment and keep backups.
• Manage several projects at once, give technical advice and work with the team and management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional web development experience.
• Experience with e-commerce sites, large product data and troubleshooting frontend and backend problems.
• Strong understanding of responsive design and performance optimization.
• Good written and spoken English, independent and reliable, able to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
• MySQL / SQL databases
• REST APIs and API integrations
• CSV, XML, JSON and structured data
• Git or another version-control system
• Knowledge of JTL-Shop / JTL-Wawi and marketplace integrations (Amazon, eBay) is an advantage
