General Manager Finance

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned finance leader to serve as General Manager – Finance for a leading container shipping line operating in Pakistan. Based in Karachi, you will be responsible for the full profit and loss of the Pakistan operation from day one, driving financial strategy, ensuring statutory compliance, and overseeing treasury activities while building and leading a dedicated finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall financial strategy for the Pakistan business.
• Own the full P&L, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all Pakistani tax, regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Manage treasury functions, including cash flow, banking relationships and foreign exchange.
• Lead, mentor and expand a finance team to support operational growth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial goals with commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience within a container shipping line, shipping agency or related maritime sector.
• Deep knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws, regulatory environment and compliance standards.
• Track record of managing full P&L responsibilities and driving financial performance.
• Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
