Geoscience Consultant

About the role

The Geoscience Consultant acts as a technical authority and strategic advisor within the Exploration & Production (E&P) division, driving subsurface evaluation, prospect generation, risk assessment and resource estimation across the full asset lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated geological and geophysical interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data, well logs, core data and regional studies.
• Develop and maintain detailed geological models, including structural, stratigraphic and sedimentological frameworks for key basins.
• Generate and rank exploration prospects, quantify volumetrics (GRV, STOIIP, GIIP) and assess geological risk using probabilistic methods.
• Perform basin analysis, source‑rock evaluation and petroleum‑systems modelling with PetroMod or BasinMod.
• Conduct advanced seismic interpretation using Petrel, Kingdom or OpendTect, including attribute analysis, AVO/DHI evaluation and inversion studies.
• Provide geoscientific input to well planning, monitor drilling operations and update subsurface models with real‑time data.
• Prepare and peer‑review PRMS‑compliant resource estimates and represent findings in Competent Person Reports.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level geoscientists, supporting their technical development.

Required profile

• Technical authority with strategic advisory experience in Exploration & Production.
• Proven ability to integrate multidisciplinary data and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Experience mentoring junior geoscientists.

Required skills

• PetroMod or BasinMod for petroleum‑systems modelling.
• Petrel, Kingdom and OpendTect for seismic interpretation.
• Monte Carlo simulation and decision‑tree methods for uncertainty quantification.
• PRMS‑compliant resource estimation and CPR preparation.
• 2D/3D seismic interpretation, well‑log and core data analysis.
• AVO/DHI evaluation and seismic attribute analysis.
