Guest Experience Specialist - Fine Dining

About the role

Cala Restaurant is looking for a Guest Experience Specialist in Karachi, based in Emaar, DHA Phase 8. The role acts as the link between the restaurant's culinary heritage and the guests' dining experience, telling stories, sharing the culinary philosophy and explaining ingredients. It suits someone well versed in history, arts and culture, with strong communication skills and a warm, engaging way of relating to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Engage guests by sharing detailed stories about the restaurant's culinary history, philosophy and unique ingredients.
• Maintain a poised and polished appearance that reflects the brand's elegance and sophistication.
• Keep up knowledge in history, arts, literature and culinary philosophy to enrich guest interactions.
• Communicate fluently and clearly in English so all guests understand what is shared.
• Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to coordinate guest interactions and keep service flowing smoothly.
• Read guests' responses and adapt the communication style to suit different personalities.
• Stay informed about new culinary trends and regional histories behind the menu.
• Address guest inquiries professionally and provide thoughtful, informative answers.
• Contribute to a welcoming, refined atmosphere and uphold hygiene, grooming and presentation standards in the dining area.
• Occasionally help with event-related duties involving storytelling or presentations about the restaurant's heritage.
• Support management in collecting guest feedback on the informational and experiential aspects of dining.

Required profile

• Possesses excellent communication skills and fluent English.
• Curious and enthusiastic about art, literature, history and philosophy.
• Projects confidence, grace and a presentable demeanor.
• Does not manage a team, but works collaboratively with front-of-house staff.
• Eager to learn and able to adapt quickly.
