Head of Digital Payment Technology (Division Head)

About the role

A leading bank is hiring a Division Head of Digital Payment Technology in Lahore, reporting to the Group Head Information Technology / Chief Information Officer. The role manages the technology operations and delivery of digital payment platforms covering instant payment systems, interbank fund transfer links and card scheme payment rails, ensuring availability, integration reliability, scheme compliance and timely execution of payment initiatives in line with bank policy and State Bank of Pakistan requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage availability, performance and incident resolution of the RAAST payment platform, 1LINK payment switch and card scheme payment interfaces against service levels to keep payments running for customers and interbank counterparties.
• Implement new payment products, features and regulatory mandates on the platforms within approved scope, budget and timelines.
• Maintain integrations with 1LINK, EuroNet, RAAST, card schemes and settlement systems, monitoring interface health, message flows and reconciliation daily.
• Ensure compliance with scheme rules, certification requirements and change controls, keeping evidence for audits and inspections.
• Track incidents, root causes and corrective actions, and report monthly platform performance, transaction trends and open issues to the Line Manager.
• Coordinate audit observations, inspection queries and scheme assessments and track closure of findings.
• Build the payment technology team through task allocation, performance feedback and skills development plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering).
• Certification in ITIL, ISO 8583-based payment systems, PCI DSS or PMP from an accredited body.
• Minimum 10 to 12 years of technology experience in banking or financial services, including at least 5 years in payment systems, payment switch operations or card payment technology with team leadership responsibility.
• Working knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan payment system regulations, RAAST participation rules, 1LINK operating framework and Visa or MasterCard scheme requirements.
• Operational discipline, problem resolution, compliance orientation and stakeholder management.
