Head of Pakistan Office

About the role

j. awan & partners (JAP) is seeking a hands‑on, finance‑strong leader to head its Karachi office, a critical delivery hub for GCC clients. You will build and scale a team of over 25 professionals across Finance, Project Management, RegTech and KYC/AML, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Karachi office into a high‑performing GCC delivery centre.
• Own delivery quality for Finance, Project Management and KYC teams.
• Act as Finance Officer on 1–2 GCC client engagements, handling financial reporting and regulatory filings.
• Recruit, onboard and retain a multidisciplinary team of 25+ staff.
• Manage office budget, produce monthly financial reports for the Group CFO and conduct cost variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Pakistani labour law, tax and corporate obligations.
• Implement Group policies on HR, Finance, Information Security and Data Protection.
• Coordinate cross‑border activities with Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Doha offices, maintaining a minimum 5‑hour daily overlap with GCC business hours.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in finance and operations, with at least 5 years leading teams of 15+ staff.
• Proven track record running an offshore or near‑shore delivery centre for international clients.
• Strong background in financial reporting, management accounting or finance function leadership.
• Experience with GCC regulated firms; familiarity with DIFC, ADGM, SAMA or QFC is a plus.
• ACA, ACCA, CFA, CPA (strongly preferred) and optionally CAMS.
• Fluent in English and Urdu; Arabic is a plus.
• Background in financial services, GRC consulting or professional services.
