Infrastructure Engineer (Data)

About the role

Telnyx’s infrastructure team is building a next‑generation, cloud‑agnostic platform that spans multiple cloud providers and continents. As an Infrastructure Engineer (Data) you will design, develop and deploy scalable solutions for managing a variety of database technologies in both virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for managing databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and others.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve pain points in large‑scale, high‑availability database infrastructure.
• Lead migration of existing database services from VMs to Kubernetes, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on‑premise database systems.
• Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, primarily on Linux‑based systems.
• Expertise in at least one orchestration tool (Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform) with a focus on stateful applications.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python to automate workflows.
• Hands‑on experience managing at least one relational database (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
