Inspector - SDBRC Plant (Punjab / Sindh / KPK)

About the role

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA), which is being set up to strengthen Pakistan's agri-trade ecosystem through better regulation, facilitation and modernisation of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will join NAFSA's foundational team, helping build its systems, processes and institutional capabilities. The post covers rural areas in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out plant pest surveillance and monitoring in farms, nurseries, markets, storage areas and other approved premises according to notified programmes and SOPs.
• Collect official samples of plants, plant products, pests and related material for diagnostic analysis, keeping the chain of custody and documentation.
• Support diagnostics by handling samples properly, dispatching them, following up results and maintaining diagnostic records.
• Inspect registered and applicant plant businesses and facilities such as nurseries, packhouses, warehouses and treatment providers to check compliance with approval conditions and regulations.
• Support audits and verification exercises with field reports and compliance observations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, surveillance, sampling and compliance, including entries in prescribed databases or information systems.
• Take part in delimitation surveys, emergency response actions and verification missions as directed.
• Act with professional conduct, integrity and confidentiality, complying with laws, rules, SOPs and international phytosanitary principles.

Required profile

• B.Sc. (Hons.) (minimum sixteen years) in Agriculture, specialising in Entomology, Plant Protection, Plant Pathology, Weed Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in field surveillance/inspection or plant protection.
• Ability to carry out fieldwork and follow sampling and inspection protocols.
• Strong integrity.

• Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry.
