iOS Principal Software Engineer – Mobile Development

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to lead our mobile development function across iOS and Android. In this senior position you will shape the technical vision, drive architecture decisions and mentor a large engineering team to deliver high‑quality, scalable mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 20+ iOS and Android engineers (mid to senior level)
• Define and execute the long‑term mobile architecture and technical strategy
• Oversee code quality, conduct reviews and enforce best‑practice standards
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and backend teams to align on features
• Plan sprints, allocate resources and ensure timely delivery of releases
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and technical challenges
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable and optimized for performance
• Mentor, coach and develop engineers to raise team capability
• Establish continuous improvement processes and engineering standards

Required profile

• 10–14 years of professional mobile application development experience
• Proven track record leading large engineering teams (20+ members)
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving and leadership abilities
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills

Required skills

• iOS development: Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit
• Android development: Kotlin, Java
• Mobile architecture patterns: MVVM, Clean Architecture
• REST API integration and backend communication
• Version control with Git
• CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
• Performance optimization and debugging techniques
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Firebase)
• Exposure to cross‑platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native) is a plus
