ISP Resident Engineer

About the role

Cybernet is looking for a proactive ISP Resident Engineer to manage and optimise network operations at its Head Office in Karachi. The role involves close collaboration with the bank’s network team, ensuring seamless WAN link performance and upholding high service quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the bank’s Network team to align ISP services with organisational objectives and act as the primary liaison for ISP‑related matters.
• Oversee deployment and configuration of WAN links, monitor performance, diagnose and resolve network issues, and escalate critical incidents to ISPs.
• Track SLA compliance, maintain incident logs, and provide periodic performance reports to stakeholders.
• Document network configurations, incidents and resolutions while staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, IT or related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in network implementation or similar roles, preferably within an ISP environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches.
• WAN technologies and protocols such as BGP, OSPF and MPLS.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and security protocols.
