IT Support Officer – Onsite (Karachi)

About the role

The Information Technology Support Officer will provide day‑to‑day technical assistance to end users at Akber Ali & Sons in Karachi. This full‑time, on‑site position involves installing, configuring and maintaining desktop computers, printers and related IT equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and perform routine maintenance on desktop PCs.
• Set up printers, install drivers, ensure connectivity and carry out basic repairs.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
• Monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance and keep IT assets documented.
• Assist users with best‑practice guidance and support IT‑related projects.
• Maintain a secure and reliable IT environment, following basic cybersecurity practices.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in IT, including operating systems, basic networking and common business applications.
• Hands‑on experience in technical support and troubleshooting.
• Clear communication skills and customer‑service orientation.
• Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
