About the role

The team is looking for a Junior Kafka Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform across development, UAT, and production environments. You will work closely with senior engineers, DevOps, and application teams to ensure reliable streaming data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

Assist with Kafka cluster provisioning, broker configuration, topic creation, partitioning, replication, retention, and capacity management.
Support Kafka upgrades, patches, rolling restarts, configuration changes, and cluster expansion under guidance.
Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka issues such as consumer lag, broker connectivity, ISR, replication, throughput, and latency.
Maintain operational documentation, deployment procedures, and runbooks.

Required profile

Minimum 3 years of relevant IT/software engineering experience with hands‑on exposure to Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform.
Good understanding of Kafka architecture, security (TLS/mTLS, SASL, ACLs), and Java/Spring Boot integration.
