Lab Technician / Dispenser

About the role

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is recruiting three Lab Technicians / Dispensers for its merged areas headquarters in Kurram District, reporting to the Medical Officer. Local candidates are given preference and females are encouraged to apply. The project lasts 5.5 months and ends on 1 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests on patient samples to help diagnose diseases and monitor treatment progress, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, implement quality control procedures and report daily investigations to the medical officers and the headquarters.
• Handle biohazardous materials safely and keep patient data confidential.
• Supply logistics, maintain the cold chain and support mobile health teams in the field.
• Prepare medications, give pharmacological advice to health-care teams, dispense medicines by compounding, packaging and labelling, and control drug therapies.
• Maintain records of controlled substances and keep the pharmacy inventory safe and clean.

Required profile

• B.Sc. with two years of diploma in medical laboratory technology (MLT) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• At least two years of experience as a laboratory technician or pharmacist in a reputable hospital or government project.
• Fluency in Urdu, Pashto and English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel extensively to field locations for mobile health camps; maximum age 45.

• Ability to work under pressure in field environments and with diverse teams
