Medical Officer (Male and Female)

About the role

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is recruiting Medical Officers (3 male and 3 female positions) in Kurram District, reporting to the PHNC / Program Manager. Local candidates are given preference. The project lasts 5.5 months and ends on 01 November 2026. The main aim is to provide high-quality medical care, diagnose and treat conditions and promote preventive healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Work in line with PRCS goals and the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles, and follow the security rules of the PRCS code of conduct.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain accurate medical records and keep patient information confidential and secure.
• Provide immediate care in emergencies, stabilize patients and coordinate further treatment, and refer urgent cases when needed.
• Keep in close contact with the community and patients, hold regular staff meetings and report daily, weekly and monthly to the line manager.
• Stay updated on medical research and best practices through continuous learning, and be ready to travel to field locations for mobile health camps.

Required profile

• MBBS degree with PMDC registration and one year of house job.
• At least one year of hospital experience with good clinical knowledge and skills.
• Fluency in Urdu, Pashto and English (spoken and written).
• Age up to 45 years; extensive travel to field locations is required.
• Willingness to undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
