Maintenance Manufacturing Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manufacturing Manager will lead the development and execution of maintenance strategies for mechanical systems used in oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing. The role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports consistent product quality across granulation, compression, coating, encapsulation and material handling processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical reliability and availability of OSD manufacturing equipment, including granulation (RMG/FBD), blending, compression, coating, and encapsulation systems.
• Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and maintain product quality.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures involving drives, gearboxes, tooling, bearings, lubrication systems, and other critical components using structured troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality teams for batch operations, equipment changeovers, and line readiness.
• Utilize SAP PM for work order execution, breakdown reporting, preventive maintenance planning, and spare‑parts tracking.
• Manage critical mechanical spares inventory, monitor consumption patterns, and coordinate replenishment with stores and procurement.
• Analyze maintenance records to identify recurring failures, recommend design improvements, and drive reliability enhancements.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at increasing MTBF, reducing mechanical downtime, and ensuring GMP compliance.

Required profile

• B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, or continuous/process manufacturing environments.
• Hands‑on experience with machine installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT participation, and start‑up support.
• Proven ability to lead technical training programs for maintenance teams.
