Manager Data Engineering and Architecture

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to drive the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide data solutions. The Manager Data Engineering and Architecture will shape our data platform strategy, ensure high performance, security and scalability, and provide technical direction across multiple data engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture blueprints, standards and reference models.
• Define and enforce data architecture best practices, design standards and naming conventions.
• Review existing data platforms and recommend improvements for performance, scalability and efficiency.
• Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Design and implement data warehouse, data lake and lakehouse architectures.
• Create and maintain data models, including curated and semantic models for analytics and reporting.
• Build event‑driven, real‑time and API‑based data integration solutions.
• Ensure data governance, quality, privacy, security and compliance across all systems.
• Implement metadata management, data lineage and governance frameworks.
• Lead and mentor data engineering teams while managing multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to enable data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience in enterprise data architecture, large‑scale solution design and data engineering leadership.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• SQL databases and data modelling.
• Modern data platform architectures (data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouse).
• Event‑driven architectures, API integrations and microservices.
• BI and analytics tools such as Power BI or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Metadata management, data lineage and data governance frameworks.
