Manager, Development & Commercialization APP

About the role

This role is a key position in Global Sourcing, helping to build a supply base described as agile, competitive, digitalized and clean. It drives development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability and Create to Value (CTV), aiming for performance to target FOB on assigned projects or categories.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development and commercialization of assigned products with Tier 1 factory personnel and technical teams.
• Provide technical expertise so design moves effectively to samples and production, meeting manufacturability, material selection, standards, timeline and cost targets.
• Drive continuous upgrades of technical applications and processes and the adoption of new technology in development and engineering.
• Supervise the direct development flow between headquarters / Creation Center and the Tier 1 factory, keeping CTV and product integrity at the top priority.
• Influence HQ teams (Design, Marketing, Brand Operations, Quality) and external parties, resolving conflicts around adidas standards.
• Make day-to-day decisions within scope and escalate complex issues or those with business impact.
• Execute defined directives and lead by example in fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant business experience.
• Experience in pattern engineering, product creation, mold making, grading and materials processing.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Knowledge of product engineering, development and commercialization processes and timelines.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and product testing processes and material types.
• Ability to read shell patterns, 2D and 3D blueprints, BOM/CBD, FCT and similar documents.
• Understanding of costing principles and cost breakdowns.
• Strong influencing, presentation and communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
