Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work remotely on the creation of detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings for custom mechanical components. The position is contract‑based and offers a flexible, work‑from‑anywhere environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical parts using FreeCAD.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and improve production processes.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including bills of materials and engineering change orders.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with sheet metal design, machining, and assembly processes.

Required skills

• FreeCAD for parametric modeling and drafting.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of ISO standards.
• Sheet metal design.
• Machining processes.
• Assembly processes.
