Mechanical Designer – Industrial Product Development

About the role

Saher Flow Solutions is looking for a motivated Mechanical Designer to join its product development team in Lahore. The role involves creating, prototyping, testing and commercialising industrial products that operate in demanding environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, enclosures and assemblies using professional 3D CAD tools.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions and other manufacturing documentation.
• Develop designs that meet requirements for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, maintainability and field service.
• Select appropriate materials based on strength, corrosion resistance, thermal performance and cost.
• Review material test certificates, supplier data and quality records.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and support design verification.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing and testing engineers.
• Coordinate with fabrication vendors throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support prototype build, validation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in mechanical product design and industrial product development.
• Proven track record of designs that reached commercial production.
• Strong understanding of machining, CNC manufacturing, sheet‑metal fabrication, welding, casting and surface finishing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T, fits and tolerances, and design for manufacturability/assembly/reliability/serviceability.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or Creo (professional CAD software).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Reliability (DFR) and Design for Serviceability (DFS).
• CNC machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, welding, casting and surface‑finishing processes.
• Engineering calculations and tolerance analysis.
