Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance

About the role

Wärtsilä Pakistan is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance activities at its power plant in Nooriabad. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment while supporting the company’s sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Set and maintain training standards for maintenance personnel.
• Prepare the annual plant maintenance plan and associated budgets.
• Execute tasks with minimal downtime while preserving quality.
• Develop benchmarks for routine activities in man‑hours.
• Implement technical bulletins and service letters relevant to the site.
• Supervise the mechanical maintenance team to keep equipment in safe, efficient condition.
• Assist in scheduling overhauls and provide outage schedules to staff and contractors.
• Manage all maintenance aspects using total quality management techniques, including inventory, reporting, training, and spare‑parts quality assurance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in power‑plant or marine environments.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on maintenance experience with internal combustion engines.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments used in engine overhauls.
