Mechanical Engineer - Technical Sales & Specifications

About the role

A Karachi-based industrial trade and service company, serving EPC contractors, explorers, operators and industrial suppliers in power generation, fertilizers and oil & gas, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong technical sales expertise. The role supports commercial and technical operations through technical parameters, specification reviews and supplier-buyer technical alignment, as well as after-sales support.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret mechanical specifications, datasheets and technical requirements in line with client specifications.
• Assess supplier and manufacturer compliance with buyer technical specifications.
• Support bidding by helping with pre-bid evaluations and technical clarifications.
• Act as technical interface between buyers, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Evaluate mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors and turbines, valves and piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating and static equipment, and power generation and oil & gas mechanical packages.
• Take part in technical meetings, clarifications and negotiations with clients and suppliers.

Required profile

• DAE or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in technical sales, proposal engineering or tender engineering, in power generation, fertilizers and/or oil & gas.
• Ability to review international standards and codes (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, IEC, etc.) and to evaluate client specifications and vendor documentation.
• Preferred: background in EPC companies, OEMs or industrial suppliers, and prior involvement in tendering, bidding or proposal teams.
