Mechanical Technician – Pump Maintenance & Production Operator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician / Production Operator to join our refinery maintenance team. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability of high‑pressure pumps and rotating equipment while ensuring strict compliance with refinery safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Overhaul, repair, and rebuild centrifugal, reciprocating and positive displacement pumps.
• Perform laser and dial‑indicator alignments on pump‑motor assemblies.
• Replace mechanical seals, cartridge seals, bearings, wear rings and packing.
• Diagnose machinery faults such as vibration, cavitation, seal leaks and low discharge pressure.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks via CMMS/SAP work orders.
• Support scheduled shutdowns, equipment blinding and major turn‑around overhauls.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, technical certificate or apprenticeship in mechanical maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in an oil refinery or petrochemical plant.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Pump maintenance expertise, especially API 610 pumps.
• Laser alignment and dial‑indicator alignment.
• Mechanical seal and bearing replacement.
• CMMS/SAP work‑order management.
• Reading P&IDs, isometric drawings and equipment blueprints.
• Use of micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches and laser alignment tools.
