Network Engineer (Level 2) - MSP

About the role

A Managed Services Provider (MSP) supporting enterprise clients globally is looking for a Level 2 Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Cisco and Palo Alto security and networking technologies. The role manages and supports multi-vendor enterprise network and security infrastructure across several client environments, with a shift of 8 PM to 5 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage Cisco and Palo Alto network and security devices across global client infrastructures.
• Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Analyze network traffic and utilization patterns to improve efficiency, performance and scalability.
• Resolve network outages, security incidents and service requests according to SLA requirements.
• Support on-premises and cloud network integrations in hybrid environments.
• Maintain network security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS and access control.
• Apply software upgrades, patches and maintenance to network and security appliances.
• Take part in incident management, problem management and root cause analysis.
• Help design, implement and improve network infrastructure and security posture.
• Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration backups, procedures and audit records.
• Complete support tickets, operational tasks and change requests on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in network and security operations, preferably in an MSP or multi-client environment.
• On-site work mode; location listed as Islamabad in the requirements section.
• At least one of the following certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, PCNSE or an equivalent advanced networking/security certification.

Required skills

• Cisco Firepower (FTD), Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco networking devices.
• Layer 2/3 high availability, BGP and OSPF, site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
• AAA protocols (TACACS+, RADIUS), Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella and network access control.
• Virtualization and SD-WAN exposure, network monitoring and logging tools.
• Preferred: MSP experience, multi-tenant networks, change management, incident response and ITIL-based service delivery.
