Patient Representative - Night Shift

About the role

California Kidney Specialists (CKS) is hiring an experienced Patient Representative to support its U.S.-based nephrology practice. The position is based in Karachi, Pakistan, on site, working the night shift from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule new-patient and follow-up appointments
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information
• Check insurance eligibility and benefits using payer portals
• Identify referral and prior-authorization requirements and submit and follow up on authorization requests
• Coordinate with patients, referring offices, insurance companies, providers and clinic staff
• Request missing referrals, medical records, insurance documents and authorization information
• Confirm appointments and explain administrative requirements to patients
• Maintain accurate notes and update patient information in Cerner
• Escalate authorization delays, denials, incomplete referrals and scheduling issues
• Protect patient information and follow HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements

Required profile

• Previous experience in patient access, medical scheduling, a healthcare call center or a similar healthcare role
• Good knowledge of U.S. health insurance, eligibility, benefits, referrals and prior authorizations
• Experience using insurance payer portals
• Strong spoken and written English and professional telephone and patient-service skills
• Attention to detail, organization and follow-up
• Ability to work on site in Karachi during the 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM shift

Required skills

• Cerner or Oracle Health
• U.S. health insurance verification and prior authorization

Preferred: experience supporting a U.S. medical practice, experience in nephrology or another specialty-care practice, and familiarity with Medicare and commercial insurance plans.
