PHP Developer (Entry Level) – Remote

About the role

Logic Gigs is looking for an entry‑level PHP Developer to join its remote team. You will develop and maintain dynamic web applications, ensure high performance, and collaborate with front‑end developers and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
• Integrate user‑facing elements with front‑end technologies.
• Test, troubleshoot, and optimise applications for speed and scalability.
• Integrate third‑party RESTful APIs and services.
• Maintain code repositories using Git and manage deployments on Apache/Nginx servers.
• Implement security best practices to protect against SQL injection, XSS and CSRF.

Required profile

• Entry‑level (junior) professional with a passion for web development.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, full‑time environment.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.

Required skills

• Core PHP programming.
• Experience with at least one PHP framework (Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony or Yii).
• MySQL database design, complex queries and optimisation.
• Front‑end basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap or jQuery.
• RESTful API integration.
• Version control with Git.
• Web server configuration (Apache or Nginx).
• Understanding of web security (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF).
• Unit testing and debugging.
