Pipeline CPM / Leak Detection Specialist (Remote)

About the role

A remote freelance position for a Pipeline CPM / Leak Detection Specialist on the Pakistan Pipeline Project. The specialist assesses, develops and optimizes computational pipeline monitoring and leak detection systems, and supports pipeline integrity initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, develop and optimize Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) and Leak Detection Systems (LDS).
• Perform transient hydraulic modelling and pipeline simulation for liquid hydrocarbon pipelines.
• Analyze SCADA and historian data to validate hydraulic models and leak detection performance.
• Conduct leak sensitivity, detectability and false alarm assessments.
• Benchmark leak detection performance against industry standards and best practices.
• Provide independent technical recommendations and support pipeline integrity initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in CPM, Leak Detection Systems (LDS) and liquid hydrocarbon pipelines.
• Experience in leak detection performance assessment and benchmarking.
• Ability to provide technology-neutral technical assessments and consulting advice.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in transient hydraulic modelling and pipeline simulation.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA systems, historian data and model validation.
• Working knowledge of API RP 1130, API RP 1175 and API TR 1149.
