PowerBI Developer

About the role

As a Power BI Developer at Creative Chaos, you will design and develop interactive reports and dashboards to visualize key business metrics and support data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and create effective visualization solutions using Power BI.

Key responsibilities

• Complex Data Modelling – design, implement and optimise Power BI semantic models for accuracy, performance and scalability.
• Advanced DAX Development – write and optimise complex DAX measures, implement calculation groups and apply advanced techniques.
• Security & Governance – configure and manage Row‑Level Security (RLS) and enforce governance standards.
• Source Control & DevOps – use Git/Azure DevOps for branching, pull‑requests and structured releases.
• SQL Development – write efficient production‑quality SQL queries for data transformation and integration.
• Autonomous Delivery – own tasks from specification through delivery with minimal supervision.
• Best Practice Modelling – champion dimensional modelling and star‑schema design.
• Dashboard & Insight Delivery – build enterprise‑grade dashboards aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 6 years experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
• Proven track record designing and publishing complex Power BI models and reports.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas and BI best practices.
• Experience with data‑modelling and report‑design best practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
• Familiarity with data‑warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
